Confidential Jobs is a rapidly growing E-Commerce company seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead all accounting and financial reporting functions for a fast-growing retail business. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial operations across high-volume transactions, inventory, revenue recognition, and multi-channel sales platforms.

Responsibilities

Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Ensure accurate revenue recognition across e-commerce platforms, payment processors, and sales channels

Maintain general ledger integrity, account reconciliations, and journal entries

Manage accounting for high-volume transactions, refunds, chargebacks, and sales tax

Oversee inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and margin analysis

Reconcile activity across e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, and payment gateways

Partner with operations to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and fulfillment costs

Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and accuracy within accounting workflows

Support audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements

Manage and develop the accounting team, providing oversight and mentorship

Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership to support business growth

Serve as a trusted accounting partner to executive leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

Strong accounting background with progressive responsibility in a Controller or senior accounting role

Direct experience supporting an e-commerce retail business from an accounting perspective

Deep understanding of revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and transactional accounting at scale

Experience working with ERP systems and e-commerce platforms

Advanced proficiency in Excel
