Generalist-Accounts Payable

The Accounts Payable Coding Generalist will manage various tasks including troubleshooting issues, verifying payments, and maintaining department reports to support the accounts payable process.

Responsibilities
Review and code vendor invoices accurately according to company chart of accounts and accounting policies
Verify invoice details including quantities, prices, and terms against purchase orders and contracts
Ensure proper allocation of expenses to the correct cost centers, departments, or projects
Enter coded invoices into the accounts payable system for processing and payment
Verify payment and invoice details to a high degree of accuracy
Monitor department inboxes and provide timely responses to email inquiries
Analyze and troubleshoot issues with interdepartmental customers and vendors
Utilize company resources to troubleshoot system issues (Oracle) as necessary
All payment processing responsibilities
See that invoices are properly approved, coded and that vendors are paid in a timely fashion
Investigates and resolves problems associated with payment of invoices and purchase orders
Prepares batch check runs and ACH and Commercial Card transactions
Maintain and update process and procedures guides for role as applicable
Communicate with Team clearly
Perform ad hoc projects as necessary
Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism
Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully
Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance
Will work non-traditional hours as needed
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public
Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)

Preferred
Progress towards college degree in related field preferred
Previous Accounts Payable or Accounting experience preferred, but not required
Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
Progress towards college degree in Business related field preferred
