Network Engineer II

Responsibilities
Design and implement advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 network configurations to support high availability, redundancy, and peak performance
Configure and maintain dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP) and redundancy technologies (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP) to ensure fault-tolerant operations
Manage firewalls, including policy creation, NAT configuration, and ACL enforcement to protect and segment network traffic
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize wireless networks, including Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) configuration, RF tuning, and resolution of coverage or roaming issues
Implement and administer Network Access Control (NAC) solutions for device profiling, posture checks, and role-based access enforcement
Support network segmentation efforts using VRFs, and contribute to foundational BGP and MPLS configurations for scalable and multi-tenant architectures
Analyze logs, monitor network performance, and proactively resolve incidents to improve reliability and end-user experience
Participate in change control processes, maintain accurate network documentation, and provide technical input during design reviews
Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge, and support skill development within the networking team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
4+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering
Strong proficiency with Layer 2/3 networking, including VLANs, trunking, STP, and routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP)
Experience with high-availability technologies such as HSRP, VRRP, and GLBP
Strong understanding of firewalls, NAT, and ACLs
Hands-on experience with Wireless LAN Controllers and wireless optimization techniques
Demonstrated experience with NAC technologies and endpoint access/security policies
Familiarity with VRFs, BGP, and MPLS environments
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Proven ability to collaborate with teams and mentor junior staff
Ability and willingness to work onsite throughout the engagement
