INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST II

Responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership for DOC’s Enterprise information security and privacy programs, ensuring the protection of mission-critical systems such as WellSTAR, GIS/ArcGIS, permitting and compliance platforms, records/PRA workflows, and M365/Azure services
Safeguards sensitive geospatial, regulatory, personnel, and public information by driving governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives
Leads incident and breach response
Oversees privacy operations under the Information Practices Act and state law
Embeds “security and privacy by design” into all technology solutions—both on-premises and cloud
Responsible for DOC’s Enterprise Technology Recovery Plan, ensuring resilience, rapid recovery, and continuous improvement of critical systems in alignment with statewide business continuity and disaster recovery objectives
