Litigation Specialist
Inveniam Search Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Litigation Specialist with strong litigation experience in the Commercial/Business litigation space. The role involves representing employers in various commercial disputes and managing all phases of litigation including pleadings, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Responsibilities
Represent employers in commercial disputes involving labor and employment issues, including contract, restrictive covenant, trade secrets, and business tort claims
Handle single-plaintiff and multi-plaintiff employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour, and wrongful termination actions in state and federal courts
Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, depositions, settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
Draft and argue motions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment, discovery motions, and post-trial motions
Conduct factual investigations, witness interviews, and document reviews; work closely with clients to develop case strategies and risk assessments
Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups on matters involving corporate, regulatory, and compliance issues related to labor and employment
Provide counseling to employers on employment policies, handbooks, compliance, and risk mitigation related to ongoing or anticipated litigation
Qualification
Required
Strong litigation experience is required for this role
Must be barred in both New York and New Jersey to be considered
7+ years of commercial litigation experience, preferably with a significant focus on labor and employment disputes
Strong experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and court appearances in state and/or federal courts
Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal New York and New Jersey employment statutes and regulations (e.g., Title VII, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, NJLAD, CEPA, and related laws)
Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
Strong oral advocacy skills and comfort arguing motions and appearing in court
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Any level of trial exposure is an added plus
