Post Doctoral Fellow - Mechanical Engineering
The University of Houston is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow in Mechanical Engineering to lead research focused on nanomaterials and biomaterials. Responsibilities
Receives/Reviews progress and evaluates results of experiments or projects under control or supervisory responsibility
Recommends changes in research, testing or experimental procedures
May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment
May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel
May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control
Operates with latitude for unreviewed action
May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations
Performs other job-related duties as required
Lead experimental design, execution, and analysis related to nanomaterials and biomaterials
Develop and refine experimental protocols, such as biosensor development, plasmonic nanomaterials synthesis and bioconjugation, immunoassay development, cell culture, and animal related work
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and analytical tools relevant to the project
Collect, analyze, and interpret complex datasets
Prepare high-quality manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and technical reports
Collaborate with internal and external research partners, including contributing to grant proposals and project meetings
Qualification
Required
PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related field awarded by the start date
Strong background on experimental research
Demonstrated ability to publish research outcomes and effectively communicate results
