Research Technician-Senior (Mays Cancer Center)
UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Senior Research Technician to provide senior-level technical support in a laboratory setting. The role involves performing complex research tasks, mentoring lower-level team members, and ensuring quality control of laboratory data.

Responsibilities
Serves as specialist on laboratory research methodologies and equipment functions; troubleshoots problems and recommends solutions
Performs a variety of tests requiring a high degree of proficiency
Verifies, processes, and reports research data by use of electronic computer systems
Ensures quality control through tracking, recording, verifying, and validating laboratory data
Maintains and updates electronic and hard copy data files of current research projects
Designs and implements databases for new projects
Evaluates experiment results utilizing statistical and multivariate analysis
May instruct an academic section in laboratory research techniques, instruments, methods, and procedures
Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Possesses in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization
Ability to communicate and liaise with research participants, research team members, and other relevant partner/key stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner
Demonstrated ability to monitor important and complex projects concurrently while maintaining quality and accuracy
Ability to adapt to a controlled laboratory environment and learn new software or database systems
Ability to act as a team leader, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows
