Start in 2026 SummerUnderwriters Laboratories Inc. is offering an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2026 Intern in Library & Researcher Information Services at UL Research Institutes. The intern will support users in navigating library collections, assist in bibliometric research, and facilitate connections between library programs and researchers.

Responsibilities
Assist in providing general subject-related research assistance for individuals and groups in a variety of settings
Support ULRI research impact through bibliometric research
Collaboratively review library resources, services, and websites to update and present the most relevant and current information and status of services and resources
Support library research efforts by facilitating connections between library programs and researchers
Effectively manage communications, assess inquiries, and respond appropriately
Assist in internal outreach and marketing-related activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Current undergraduate or graduate student status pursuing a library and information science career
Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and managing time appropriately
Interest or experience in STEM research
Proficient in Office 365 and able to learn new software applications
Positive and collaborative, strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others across the organization
Strong written and oral communication/presentation skills
Problem-solving and project management skills to identify issues and concerns as they arise and recommend practical improvement solutions
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proven track record of being able to work collaboratively with others
Ability to take direction and show initiative
Preferred
Experience or education in library research support
Experience or education in data science
