Responsibilities
Support and manage consumer bankruptcy matters, primarily Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 debtor representation, including client meetings, preparing and filing petitions and related documentation, and appearing in court for routine hearings
Preparing and filing legal documents
Addressing motions and objections as needed
Negotiating resolutions
Providing client-focused legal guidance consistent with bankruptcy law and firm standards
Qualification
Required
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Texas (or ability to obtain promptly)
Comfortable meeting with clients and appearing in court/attending hearings
Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional client service mindset
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage deadlines
Solid research and drafting ability (motions, responses, and related filings)
Preferred
Prior consumer bankruptcy experience is a plus, but not required
