Associate Attorney
Freeman Mills PC is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its office in Dallas, Texas. This position focuses on oil and gas title examination, due diligence, and related transactional support for exploration and production companies, mineral owners, and other industry participants.

Responsibilities
Conduct oil and gas title examinations, including surface, mineral, royalty, and leasehold interests
Prepare drilling, division order, acquisition, and supplemental title opinions
Review and analyze deeds, leases, assignments, probate records, and other land records
Identify and evaluate title defects and curative requirements; draft curative instruments
Assist with due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, financings, and development projects
Communicate with landmen, clients, and internal team members regarding title matters
Support senior attorneys with complex title issues and special projects
Stay current on developments in oil and gas law, title standards, and state-specific requirements
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Texas or eligible for admission to the State Bar of Texas
Working knowledge of real property law and oil and gas principles
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently as well as collaboratively
Preferred
0–5 years of experience in oil and gas title examination or related practice preferred
Prior experience with oil and gas title opinions
Familiarity with Texas Title Examination Standards and land records
Experience working with landmen or E&P clients
Exposure to oil and gas transactions or regulatory matters
