2026 Engineering Internships (Sensor Fusion/Autonomous Systems/Data/Space Comms)
Tiami Networks is transforming global mobile networks into all-domain sensor networks for perception and sensing from the seabed to space. They are seeking multiple intern candidates to work on various technical areas related to sensor perception stacks for 5G-powered platforms and autonomous systems this spring and summer.
Responsibilities
Research, design, and implement state‑of‑the‑art multi‑target tracking and data association algorithms for ground-based and aerial sensing platforms
Research, design, and implement state-of-the-art algorithms for optimal task allocation, scheduling and temporal sequencing of individual and teams of autonomous vehicles (land, air, other)
Research, design, and implement active monostatic radar sensing on power-constrained aerial platforms with high mobility
Research, design, and simulate power-efficient LEO space RF sensor payloads for integrated sensing and communications
Build optimal RF synthetic data solution to reduce time spent on real-world data collection
Install, configure, and debug drivers, firmware, and APIs on hardware platforms
Develop and debug firmware and system software running on Linux-based embedded platforms
Design and implement multi-threaded applications to manage and coordinate multiple real-time tasks with strict timing requirements
Write scripts and utilities (Python/Bash) to automate data collection and configuration/control of hardware platforms such as SDRs and radar platforms
RF engineering, perform live demos of Tiami solutions for commercial and government customers
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate/graduate field of study in the United States, or have graduated within the last three months (Fall'25)
US citizens and permanent residents highly preferred
C/C++ proficiency
Expertise in target state estimation, multi-sensor data fusion, and tracking theory (e.g., Bayesian filtering, statistical inference, association algorithms, dynamics modeling)
Frontier AI models (Vision-Language Action models), Integer or Mixed Integer Linear Programming, multi-agent reinforcement learning, Constraint Programming, Convex Optimization, Multi-Objective-Optimization and using established solvers such as Gurobi, Google-OR, CPLEX etc
Radar signal processing
Experience with creating satellite simulations and models, radiation hardening of RF systems
SOTA in synthetic data generation for RF environments (e.g., Nvidia Sionna/Omniverse tools)
Solid programming experience in C/C++ and Python for embedded or systems-level development
Working knowledge of Linux operating systems, including process management, device drivers, and system-level debugging
Familiarity with real-time and multi-threaded programming
Strong understanding of 5G system architecture, RF planning, software-defined radios, TCP/IP networking, Linux, shell scripting, AWS
