They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join their accounting team, focusing on general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Perform general ledger accounting and reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records
Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payment and collections
Conduct account reconciliations to maintain accurate balances across all accounts
Manage bank accounts and credit cards to ensure cash/credit availabilities and timely currency conversions
Manage fixed assets and process month-end close
Preparation of all American and Canadian monthly, quarterly, annual tax returns, or other governmental reporting with guidance from management
Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights for management decision-making
Utilize QuickBooks software for financial reporting and data management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and reporting accuracy
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and compliance matters
Assist in budgeting processes and forecasts to support strategic planning
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to work in the company office Monday - Friday
American Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Proven experience in general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices
Experience with accounts payable management and account reconciliation
Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks
Ability to forecast financial outcomes based on historical data and trends
Excellent technical accounting skills with a strong understanding of relevant regulations
High level of financial acumen with the ability to analyze complex data sets effectively
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines
Preferred
Canadian accounting experience would be a plus
Canadian accounting degree is a plus
