Responsibilities
Enhancing Federato's flagship Underwriting Platform
Owning the roadmap of the underwriting platform and actively seeking opportunities to expand capabilities and enhance user experience
Effectively communicating the value proposition of the product portfolio to internal and external stakeholders
Building strong relationships with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to support product adoption and growth
Developing a deep understanding of the insurance market, including its key players, challenges, trends, and competitive landscape
Conducting thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities and threats, informing product strategy, portfolio decisions, and potential M&A opportunities
Defining and refining market segmentation to target specific user personas effectively
Collaborating on user research activities to understand user needs, pain points, and workflows
Synthesizing research findings into actionable insights that inform product and UX strategies
Fostering strong relationships with users through user groups and other engagement methods
Leading product discovery efforts to identify and validate user problems and needs
Translating insights into detailed requirements and user stories for engineering teams
Prioritizing the product backlog based on cost/benefit analysis and strategic alignment
Employing agile development methodologies to ensure iterative development and continuous improvement
Defining and tracking key product metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement
Analyzing data and trends to inform product decisions and ensure alignment with business goals
Working closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success to align on product strategy, design direction, and go-to-market plans
Serving as a sounding board for design and engineering teams, anticipating potential challenges and facilitating effective problem-solving
Effectively motivating teams to deliver against the company vision
Defining and championing the product vision and strategy for the product, aligning it with the overall company vision and financial objectives
Developing and maintaining product roadmaps that articulate the long-term direction and prioritize initiatives based on market analysis, user needs, and business goals
Qualification
Required
Proven track record of delivering successful SaaS products to market, preferably in B2B settings
Broad business acumen across industries and business models, with the ability to understand market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and financial implications of product decisions
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of software development methodologies and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address challenges effectively
A passion for creating exceptional products that solve important user problems with an ability to form a big-picture strategy and a willingness to be granular in detail and do hands-on work as needed
BA/BS degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field is required
Ability to travel to East Coast roughly 30% of the time or based on product spike timing
Preferred
Experience with AI-powered solutions is a plus
MBA and experience working in the insurance or financial industry are pluses
