Responsibilities
Act as the technical lead responsible for executing application migration waves from on-prem environments to AWS
Drive implementation activities including build, migration sequencing, cutover preparation, rollback planning, and stabilization
Lead cutovers and production transitions, ensuring successful validation and minimal service disruption
Own migration runbooks, execution checklists, and readiness steps to ensure repeatable delivery
Work directly within the AWS AMS model to support end-to-end migration execution
Coordinate execution tasks that align with AMS standards, operational processes, and change controls
Partner with AWS AMS stakeholders to remove delivery blockers and enable successful transitions
Execute and support infrastructure migration workstreams involving networking and connectivity, DNS and routing impacts, IAM and access constraints, Compute and storage transitions, Monitoring/alerting integration and post-cutover observability
Lead troubleshooting and remediation efforts during migration windows and stabilization periods
Ensure migrated environments meet reliability, performance, and operational expectations
Ensure migrated workloads are production-ready with appropriate Monitoring and alerting, Incident response readiness, Resiliency considerations, Runbooks and operational support procedures
Partner with Operations to support steady-state transition and post-migration operational stability
Work across Product Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Operations to align execution tasks and resolve dependencies
Provide clear execution status updates, risks, and technical decisions to stakeholders
Drive execution-focused working sessions to keep delivery moving and remove blockers quickly
Qualification
Required
Direct experience executing complex migrations using AWS AMS
Strong experience migrating VMware environments to AWS
Proven ability to deliver migration execution through cutover and stabilization in complex enterprise environments
8+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud engineering
Strong AWS knowledge (services, architecture patterns, reliability considerations)
Strong troubleshooting and systems knowledge across enterprise infrastructure environments
Ability to serve as a technical lead across multiple teams without being a project manager
Strong communication skills and ability to drive execution priorities in high-change environments
Comfortable operating in complex, process-driven environments with multiple stakeholders
Preferred
Experience supporting migrations within structured operational models (managed services, controls, change processes)
Familiarity with AWS migration methodologies and cutover best practices
Experience in regulated or high-availability enterprise environments
