IT System Administration - Senior/Specialist (Olympia)
NEOGOV is seeking an IT System Administration Senior/Specialist to join the Department of Children, Youth, and Families. This role involves advanced knowledge and implementation of software and services, including Microsoft Intune and Active Directory, while acting as a subject matter expert and resolving complex IT issues.

Responsibilities
Responsible for configuring and maintaining device enrollment, compliance and configuration profiles
Responsible for planning, documentation, implementation, and troubleshooting application delivery strategies
Perform desktop application integration, testing and troubleshooting
Responsible for the configuration, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of agency wide Email administration
Implement and enforce standards and governance frameworks for naming conventions, solution ownership, and documentation
Ensure email security best practices including anti-spam, anti-malware, DKIM/DMARC/SPF, and transport rules
Responsible for creating separate groups of servers to schedule patching in a way that minimizes downtime to applications associated with the servers
Responsible for managing and implementing enterprise antivirus and malware protection security policies and updates
Creation, management, configuration, maintenance and support of Enterprise Active Directory (AD)
Analyze, create, implement, manage and audit security groups to allow/restrict access to network resources, file shares, application access that supports role-based access controls
Creates and maintains system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps
Qualification
Required
Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 10 years of progressive professional IT Experience
An associate's degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in an information technology or related program and eight (8) years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology; or administrating or supervising staff that performed work in any of these information technology disciplines
Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely allied field and six (6) years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology; or administrating or supervising staff that performed work in any of these information technology disciplines
Experience supporting network resources contained within a Microsoft Active Directory environment
Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory concepts (e.g. Kerberos, LDAP, Sites and Security Groups)
Automation and PowerShell scripting experience
Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft System Center products (MECM and the ability to understand and work with existing customizations and augment functionality
Experience working with Microsoft Identity technologies (e.g. Active Directory, Entra and Group Policy)
Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WINS, DFS, in a Windows 2016 and newer Landscape Experience developing/maintaining policies, procedures, and training plans for messaging system administration including agency requirements for appropriate use
