Quality Technician

Responsibilities
Assist in Production Team member training for Quality acceptance criteria
Inspection and/or Testing required to evaluate the quality of raw materials per specification as required
Understand and assist with the implementation of process, part, and/or Standard Work changes
Understand and evaluate parts/materials per Customer specified requirements
Monitor Production quality per Customer acceptance criteria
Complete 1st off & prescribed frequency part inspection/verification of parts
Inspect, evaluate, and disposition Customer returns
Sort parts/materials per Customer specifications, as required
Provide training details to production leadership to evaluate the capabilities or training needs of Team Members
Receiving inspection of raw materials from suppliers, as specified
Communicate to Quality, Manufacturing, and Support groups for out-of-specification conditions on parts or materials
Internal auditing
Sign off Production Team Members for Quality Alerts, Changes to documentation, etc
Training effectiveness audits of Production Team Members
Participate in Operational / Mechanical Troubleshooting, as necessary
Capability Studies, as requested
Perform laboratory evaluations, as required
Gather, support, and submit samples for testing, as required
Participate in Kaizen events
Cross-training for the Manufacturing department knowledge
Travel to locations for part inspection
Other duties/requests, as needed
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
6+ months of related experience or training
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Strong communication skills to speak effectively before groups of customers, team members, and suppliers
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, as necessary
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and internet software
Forklift License, as needed for moving parts
