Responsibilities
Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are consistently met with accuracy and strong controls
Oversee and develop a team of 8 accounting professionals, including coaching, performance management, training, and workload prioritization
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules; ensure compliance with company policy and U.S. GAAP
Own key close areas (based on business needs), such as:
Accruals and prepaid expenses
Intercompany and allocations
Fixed assets and depreciation
Compensation-related accounting
Balance sheet and P&L flux analysis
Ensure close deliverables are audit-ready, well-supported, and properly documented in accordance with SOX requirements
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen processes, procedures, standardization, and automation across the accounting function
Create and maintain close calendars, checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve cycle time and reduce errors
Partner with Internal Audit / SOX team to maintain effective controls, address deficiencies, and support testing requirements
Support quarterly and year-end processes, including audits and reviews with external auditors
Collaborate with FP&A and senior finance leadership to support variance analysis, trend identification, and reporting insights
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including public company experience (SEC/SOX environment)
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
Proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment while ensuring high-quality work
Preferred
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA preferred (or strong public accounting foundation)
Financial services industry exposure preferred
People management and close leadership experience
