Responsibilities
Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills sessions (leadership, public speaking, focus, teamwork) using adventure-based challenges and nature-centered activities
Conducting brief, high-energy motivational coaching sessions where you help students achieve academic milestones through adaptive learning software
Animating curriculum with creative storytelling, tailored approaches, and dynamic enthusiasm that sustains K-12 student engagement
Implementing outdoor safety procedures and sound field judgment (route selection, weather monitoring, equipment inspection, Leave No Trace principles) according to Waypoint's established field standards
Evaluating competency development by observing students demonstrate life skills in practical, real-world scenarios
Maintaining rigorous performance standards while serving as an approachable, motivating mentor students genuinely respect and admire
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any discipline
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with K-12 students in educational, camp, coaching, or outdoor program settings
Documented history of exceptional performance (academic, athletic, or professional achievements)
Strong public speaking ability with the capacity to captivate and sustain attention among large student audiences, both indoors and outdoors
Authentic capacity to connect with K-12 learners, their interests, and their world—not as a peer, but as an influential role model who challenges them to excel
Authorization to work legally in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Commitment to working on-site at Waypoint Academy's Dripping Springs, TX campus (Austin vicinity)
Preferred
