Marketing and Community Manager (Developer Events)

AI Engineer is focused on building a global network of flagship and regional events to empower the AI engineering community. The Marketing and Community Manager will lead efforts to engage and nurture the community, develop strategic marketing plans, and promote events across various platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and community engagement plans to promote AI Engineer events to a B2B audience of AI engineers, startups, labs, and industry leaders
Manage Slack communities, LinkedIn groups, Twitter, Youtube and other online platforms to facilitate active dialogue, knowledge sharing, and networking among attendees and partners
Design and lead communication campaigns, including email marketing, social media posts, newsletters, and event press plans that target both regional and global AI communities
Plan and manage community initiatives that nurture engagement before, during, and after events, including regional meetups, virtual activities, and continuous content drip campaigns
Collaborate closely with event production, sales, and sponsorship teams to align community-building efforts with event goals and partner expectations
Support speaker, sponsor, and attendee outreach to enhance event visibility and participation
Track, analyze, and report on community growth, engagement metrics, and campaign effectiveness to inform future strategies
Develop and maintain a community calendar and manage event marketing timelines to ensure consistent audience outreach and engagement
Foster partnerships with regional AI communities, industry groups, and media to extend reach and co-host initiatives
Act as a community ambassador, representing AI Engineer in external forums and helping to build the brand as a neutral, trusted AI event platform

Required

Proven experience (6+ years) in community management and marketing, preferably within the tech / AI sector
Strong knowledge of Slack, LinkedIn, Twitter and other community engagement platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to craft compelling content and clear messaging
Strategic thinker with strong project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple campaigns and initiatives simultaneously
Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to measure engagement and guide marketing decisions
Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners in a fast-paced, remote environment
Deep passion for AI and technology, with empathy for the challenges and needs of practitioner communities
Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable, with a customer- and community-focused approach

Preferred

Experience in B2D event marketing and community-building for tech audiences
Background working with developer, startup, or innovation communities
Familiarity with PR and media outreach related to event announcement and coverage
Knowledge of marketing automation and CRM tools
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred but not mandatory
