International Space Station Flight Controller - ADCO/POINTING/GNC
Barrios Technology is an engineering solutions partner supporting NASA and the commercial space industry. They are seeking an International Space Station Flight Controller to support the Guidance, Navigation, and Control aspects of human spaceflight programs, training astronauts and managing the ISS's orientation and maneuvers.

Responsibilities
Support the Guidance, Navigation, and Control aspects of human spaceflight programs
Train and certify as either an Attitude Determination and Control Officer (ADCO) or Pointing flight controller
Perform attitude control or line of sight calculations and predictions for the ISS and Artemis Programs
Plan and calculate future attitudes and maneuvers for the ISS
Dock the ISS with other spacecraft
Train astronauts and flight controller peers on spacecraft GNC systems
Complete NASA led flight controller and instructor certifications
Interface directly with the NASA customer, subcontractors, and international partners
Support evening, night, and weekend shifts
Qualification
Required
This is an entry-level position for candidates with 0-2 years of related experience
Requires successful completion of a government background check before commencement of employment
A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or Physics and Math from an accredited engineering school, college or university is required, or anticipate degree by June 2026
Candidate must have a technical background and a good understanding of engineering principles
Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated initiative, outstanding organizational skills, the ability to participate in a team environment, and the ability to function well under pressure
Must be proficient in Windows and Microsoft applications. The candidate must have strong multi-tasking/work prioritization skills
Knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply them to real-time operations is essential
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and administrative skills are mandatory
Demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and coordinate a wide range of tasks
Demonstrated ability to progress through flight controller and instructor certifications
Must be able to apply technical knowledge and operations concepts to exercise effective decision making and initiative in a real-time and fast-paced operational environment
Must be a self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment with the ability to work effectively both alone or as part of a team
Required to pass a standard flight controller physical examination and pass security clearances
Shift work (nights, weekends, and holidays) is required
Candidates must be able to meet JSC requirements for certification as a Flight Controller
Candidates must be able to apply for and successfully receive/maintain the required security clearance
Must be able to pass an Air Force Class III physical
Night, weekend, and Holiday work may be required for integrated simulations and flight support
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as required
Successful candidates must be a US Citizen and be able to apply for and successfully receive and maintain security clearance per eligibility requirements
Preferred
Preference for Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical Engineering
Experience in Guidance, Navigation and Control in coursework or internships
Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and administrative skills are mandatory
The candidate must be able to work in a dynamic environment that requires him/her to work effectively both alone and as part of a team
The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and coordinate a wide range of tasks
