Responsibilities
Break down information obtained from specifications, sketches, customer layout drawings and instructions furnished by others and convert the information into a detailed design which can include drawings with section views and dimensions
Be able to design and modal parts and assemblies in SolidWorks
Perform limited mathematical calculations using standard procedures for one or more of the following: stress, fatigue, flow, vibration, shock, thermal
Perform limited finite element analysis for one or more of the following: structural stress, fatigue, flow, vibration, shock, thermal
Perform limited DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Consult with others to determine whether drawings can be executed efficiently and within expected tolerances
Prepare bills of materials and specifications
Completes forms, reports and relevant documentation as required for both engineering department and customer submittal
Compiles record of project progress (project plan) and ensure project progress per schedule
Qualification
Required
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
US Person
Results oriented, with sound judgment
Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Excellent demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and strategic skills
Interpersonal skills
Ability to manage changes during design phase
Resourceful and well organized
Ability to effectively work in a cross-functional team
Working knowledge of computerized drafting applications
Preferred
Relevant mechanical design experience preferred in the design of mechanical components or valves
