Responsibilities
Manage family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and related litigation
Active license to practice law in West Virginia (or ability to obtain)
Represent clients in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
Develop legal strategies and case plans from start to finish
Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients
Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure efficient case management
Qualification
Required
Active license to practice law in West Virginia (or ability to obtain)
Active Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent law degree required; must have or be eligible for an active license to practice law in West Virginia; Bachelor's degree minimum as stated, but JD is implicit for licensure
Excellent client communication and case management skills
Experience working in a law practice or legal services environment, preferably family law, with at least 2 years of relevant practice
Proficient in family law litigation, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, hearings, pleadings, motions, discovery, legal research, and client counseling
Active license to practice law in West Virginia or ability to obtain it; familiarity with West Virginia family law statutes and court procedures
Proficient in legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence relevant to family law cases
Experienced in courtroom advocacy, including hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and contested litigation
Skilled in managing multiple family law cases simultaneously with strong organizational and case management abilities
Onsite role based in Clarksburg, WV; candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance or be fully willing to relocate without relocation assistance, as no relocation support is provided
