The role focuses on driving organization-wide adoption of data governance through strategy, enablement, and hands-on platform execution.

Responsibilities
Define and mature the enterprise data governance strategy, operating model, and stewardship framework
Lead governance councils, cross-functional workshops, and decision-making processes
Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices
Champion data quality, metadata management, lineage transparency, and master/reference data consistency
Embed governance into data products, pipelines, and medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) architectures
Partner with business data owners and stewards to define critical data elements, quality rules, and workflows
Drive governance adoption through training, communication, and change management
Administer and enhance Microsoft Purview and Profisee MDM platforms
Translate governance strategy into technical execution across Azure and Databricks environments
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, or related STEM field
10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data platform roles
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and Profisee MDM
Strong knowledge of Azure data platforms and Databricks lakehouse architecture
Experience with metadata management, data quality frameworks, and master data management
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Preferred
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in upstream oil and gas
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
Databricks Certified Data Engineer – Professional
