Responsibilities
Build, manage, and optimize the company’s accounting operations, ensuring scalability and alignment with business growth
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team as the company grows
Establish strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial workflows
Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
Profitability reporting
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Drive continuous improvements in the close process to shorten timelines and enhance reporting quality
Manage and execute all required regulatory, statutory, and compliance reporting; ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry requirements
Partner with legal/compliance teams to stay ahead of evolving reporting standards and regulations
Coordinate and support external audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews
Serve as the NetSuite subject-matter expert, optimizing the system for financial reporting, billing, Order to Cash, revenue recognition, controls, and workflow automation
Implement and streamline financial tools, integrations, and reporting capabilities to support scale
Lead system enhancements, data integrity initiatives, and process automation efforts
Collaborate with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and performance analytics
Provide actionable accounting insights to executive leadership
Support strategic initiatives such as pricing models, new product launches, and revenue-related processes (especially in SaaS/professional services)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
Extensive NetSuite experience, including configuration, reporting, and optimization
Proven regulatory reporting experience, ideally within a regulated industry
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience managing audits
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a startup/fast-growth environment and build processes from scratch
Experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles
Preferred
Experience in security, surveillance, or government organizations is a plus
Multi-entity or international reporting experience
Experience with revenue recognition for recurring revenue or project-based billing
Track record of implementing or upgrading financial systems/tools in a scaling environment
