Manager, Mentoring in Illinois
The Golden Apple Foundation is seeking a Manager of Mentoring to assist in the management of Mentors supporting new teacher induction programs. This role involves coordinating professional development, mentoring beginning teachers, and analyzing performance data to improve teacher retention and success rates.

Responsibilities
Show a commitment to Golden Apple’s mission to inspire, develop and support teachers throughout Illinois to mitigate teacher shortage
Coordinating calendars and schedules for Professional Development delivered by key partners and Mentors as well as other stakeholders
Collect necessary performance data and documentation from mentors and teachers and ensure comprehensive and accurate record-keeping in our master system-of-record
Measure the success of our Teaching Scholars and Accelerators individually and collectively to improve our completion and persistence rates
Collaborate with colleagues in Golden Apple to ensure smooth transitions and hand-offs
Mentor beginning teachers in our two teacher preparation pipeline programs, with an emphasis on those who are 1st year teachers
Coaching 25-35 Mentors across Golden Apple’s programs who are beginning level
Develop data collection tools to be utilized with teacher audiences as well as with mentors
Collect, analyze, and present data to inform program recommendations
Attending, developing, and delivering professional development, including planning and coordinating all aspects of in-person sessions
Collaborating with school leadership who are clients of our work - including school, network, and district-level administrators - regarding their observations and those of our Mentors
Coordinating document collection for risk management procedures for independent contractors
Reviewing and approving pay and expense reimbursements for Independent Contractors/Mentors and communicating with mentors when necessary to aid this effort
Able to implement systems to examine and determine the distribution of funds from multiple sources for the purpose of compensating independent contractors
Developing communications and newsletters, which include timely information and useful resources for various teacher audiences supported by the mentoring program
Be a key team member in Golden Apple's summer professional development and events through planning with partners and maintaining communications with all who are involved
Contribute and assist in the implementation of the end-user content for the web-based app utilized for summer programming
Participate in recurring team meetings
Practice excellent interpersonal skills
Maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity of information
Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership, working with a team, and exploring opportunities to add value to the organization
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Mentoring and Teacher Development
Qualification
Required
Hold a Professional Educator's License with experience in K-12 education
Excellent organizational skills, ability to follow processes, and attention to detail
Strong problem-solving skills; ability to reflect on processes and make improvements
Strong entrepreneurial attitude, including a drive for results and proven ability to stay focused on goals; ability to prioritize competing priorities and meet deadlines
Able to exemplify and systems thinking approach as well as design and implement systems to act as communication tools
Strong written communication and presentation skills
Strong computer and Internet proficiency, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database applications
Willingness to learn, ask questions, and evolve
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with external partners
Degree in a related educational field, holding a Professional Educators License with experience in K-12 education
Minimum five years of teaching experience
Possesses strong organizational and Project Management skills and demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously (i.e., leadership, negotiation, scheduling, risk and contract management, critical thinking, and communication)
Willing to travel throughout Illinois
Able to work independently, including, at times, outside or regular working hours
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members and management
Experience working in a fast-paced, quick-turnaround environment
Ability to engage in self-reflection and participate professionally in constructive conversations
Preferred
Certified State Evaluator (for teachers) preferred
Evidence of teacher leadership experience (e.g. PD planning and facilitation, school/grade/content team leader, school leadership, instructional coach, etc.)
Knowledgeable of Adult Learning Theory and able to apply its principles
