Project Engineer Advisor
Pantex Plant is committed to safeguarding national security and is seeking a Project Engineer Advisor. The role involves managing complex engineering issues, serving as the technical point of contact, and coordinating across various engineering divisions to ensure project success.

Responsibilities
Monitoring the assembly and disassembly processes and evaluating performance
This includes data analysis on information collected during the process and other indicators that could help inform changes to increase productivity (downtime metrics, reject/replace metrics, cycle time metrics, etc)
Engaging other sites to address potential changes to requirements
This includes the Design Agency and other Production Agencies
Taking the lead to resolve complex technical challenges
Identifying potential design and requirement issues that will impact production and working with the Design Agency to resolve
Coordinating across the Engineering divisions (Process, Tooling, Testers, Systems, Safety Analysis Engineering) to identify resource needs and funding
Maintaining open communication with lead Engineers at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Kansas City Plant (KCP), Y-12 National Security Complex (Y12), etc
Tracking L2 Program/Project milestones
Acting as the Project/Product Realization Team (PRT) Coordinator, responsible for ensuring all PRTs have adequate resource support and being present at PRTs as required
Being the Pantex representative for recurring collaboration meetings with the Design Agencies
Coordinating and planning all technical reviews (Conceptual Drawing Review (CDR), Baseline Design Review (BDR), etc)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering/science from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET with a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0/4.0 and a minimum 12 years of relevant experience
OR a Master's degree in engineering/science discipline with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum 10 years of relevant experience
OR a PhD in engineering/science discipline with a minimum 3.5/4.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum 7 years relevant experience
There is a minimum GPA requirement up to 4 years post-graduation at time of offer and confirmed by transcript
Beyond four years from graduation, engineering experience will supersede GPA as a requirement for hire
In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709

Demonstrated knowledge of, and the ability to use, project management techniques such as tracking, trending, and scheduling to meet reliability, operability, schedule, and quality expectations
Knowledge of engineering principles and their application to risk analysis, qualitative risk assessment, facilities and systems operation, and manufacturing processes and systems
Working knowledge of engineering principles and standard industry operations
Ability to lead difficult and complex projects
Ability to develop executable plans
Skills for reporting on determined corrective and improvement actions
Ability to maintain successful interactions with others concerning matters of significance to the Company
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate through oral and written word
