Responsibilities

Identify needs and gaps in K-12 digital media literacy education by analyzing partner needs, trends, relevant research, and current events
Build relationships with educators, librarians, and digital citizenship specialists across Washington state
Deliver youth programs that are hosted in-person at schools, partner facilities, and/or public venues that focus on: promoting critical evaluation of digital media, including social media, AI-generated content, and online information. co-designing approaches for developing healthy digital media habits. Develop and deliver programs and educational resources in collaboration with educators, caregivers, and/or school counselors and psychologists that provide adults in youths' lives with: evidence-based recommendations for supporting youth digital well-being. professional development training on digital citizenship and media literacy teaching strategies. opportunities to bridge home and school policies and practices to support youth digital wellbeing. Collaborate with the Program Evaluator to assess program impact on participants' critical thinking skills, information evaluation abilities, and digital wellbeing indicators
Collaborate with researchers to create research questions and contribute to program-based research projects on digital wellbeing and information literacy
Identify and recommend impactful and responsive philanthropy initiatives related to healthy digital habits
Collaborate with the Communication Team to share impactful learning, resources, and stories through various formats
Represent foundry10 Programs in media literacy spaces, including in schools, community organizations, conferences, and with community partners

Required

Minimum of two years of experience in the media literacy, digital citizenship, or related education fields
Youth-facing experience
Minimum of five years of experience teaching and developing curriculum for K-12 youth programming in a traditional or non-traditional education setting
Experience working with diverse youth populations and understanding of how various demographics experience digital media differently
Educator-facing experience
Experience creating and facilitating professional development for educators, which may include leading trainings or conference workshops, building professional learning communities, and/or developing guidelines for technology policies at K-12 schools
Experience developing caregiver or family engagement programs on technology topics
Deep understanding of youth digital experiences, social media platforms, and emerging technology trends
Knowledge of evidence-based approaches to promoting digital wellbeing and digital media and information literacy for ages PreK-12
Ability to develop programs that result in measurable outcomes for participants
Ability to translate research into practical strategies for educators and caregivers
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people
Strong verbal and written communication skills appropriate for diverse youth and adult audience
Strong organizational skills and ability to support program budgeting process
