Control Account Manager & Integration Program Manager 1/2 (Program Manager 1/2)
Los Alamos National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. The Control Account Manager & Integration Program Manager will provide program management support to a NNSA weapons program portfolio, ensuring successful program execution through collaboration and coordination across multiple organizations.
Security
Responsibilities
Provide program management support to a NNSA weapons program portfolio within the LANL-Production Agency (PA)
Report directly to the Project-Program Director (PPD) 5 and Sr. Director
Be responsible for cross-site/cross-agency collaborations to ensure overall successful program execution
Serve as a LANL-PA interface with internal line organizations (e.g. DP, FIN-WP, PC-ALDWP) and the assigned program office
Assist in defining technical program scope, in accordance with Laboratory, ALDWP, and SPM capabilities, capacities, and priorities
Work in partnership with the Principal Program Manager and Team to support the overall scope of the assigned portfolio
Adhere to reporting and documentation requirements detailed by the NNSA Federal Program Office (FPO)
Provide leadership, tactical planning, and coordination for execution of the assigned portfolio
Assist in defining work scope, schedules, budgets, and funding for program work, priorities, and performance milestones
Negotiate, authorize, and direct the use of resources to meet work scope, schedules, budgets, and Laboratory goals
Provide direction to direct and/or deployed staff in the planning, tracking, and execution of program plans for your assigned component(s) scope
Ensure integration with other Laboratory priorities and commitments, including safety, security, environmental compliance, quality, contractor assurance, and business imperatives
Manage the interface with program, project, and line management to ensure performance, monitor and track cost, schedule, and progress against milestones
Assist in identifying potential portfolio risks, developing risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions, and recommend risk acceptance/avoidance for the assigned component(s) of the assigned program portfolio within the Production Agency
Qualification
Required
Entry-level knowledge of and experience in program management of technical or operational work, including defining program work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and managing change control and risk
Entry-level knowledge of the technical or operational discipline of the assigned portfolio(s)
Entry-level knowledge of regulatory and Laboratory requirements related to programmatic work of assigned portfolio(s)
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Experience in interacting effectively with all levels of personnel; building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts. Experience in developing and nurturing effective customer relationships
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of directly related technical and project management experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation
Working knowledge of and experience in program management of technical or operational work, including defining program work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and managing change control and risk
Working knowledge of the technical or operational discipline of the assigned portfolio(s)
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

Preferred

Knowledge and experience with the overall mission for NA-12 (Office of Stockpile Management) based programs
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills & experience interacting in an effective manner with NNSA and/or other federal customers
Demonstrated experience and leadership in developing and executing complex organizational interface agreements, funding cost models, or similar integration tools
Demonstrated experience managing a component or set of components through the 6.x product life-cycle process (Life Extension Program or Major Alteration experience)
Experience utilizing formal Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles to help manage a project/program
Engineering or science degree
