City Utilities- Civil Engineering Intern
City of Fort Wayne is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience working alongside licensed Professional Engineers on projects that support the city's utility infrastructure. This internship involves both office and field work, focusing on planning, design, and analysis of civil engineering projects.

Responsibilities
Assist with planning, design, and field verification for civil engineering projects
Collect, analyze, and document field data using surveys and GPS technology
Support preparation of reports, recommendations, and quantity take-offs
Map stormwater sheds and analyze water main breaks and sewer hydraulics
Complete required City training modules and assist with research
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program
Minimum of two years of college coursework completed
Interest in public infrastructure and applied engineering experience
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering data
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfort with measurements, data collection, and basic analysis
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt as project priorities shift
Preferred
Valid Indiana Driver's License
Valid driver's license with a certified driving record if operating a City vehicle
