Cyber Security Analyst (NDTAC)

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary cybersecurity lead for the contract, ensuring compliance with FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and all applicable Department of Education and DHS Binding Operational Directives
Oversee vulnerability scanning, POA&M tracking/closure, and incident response for all project systems
Develop, maintain, and update System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), and supporting ATO/accreditation documentation
Conduct and document annual security self-assessments, support audits, penetration testing, and coordinate remediation activities
Ensure all web/cloud operations meet encryption, access control, records management, Privacy Act, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) protection requirements
Collaborate with technical, project, and federal stakeholders (including Information System Security Officers) for security reviews and reporting
Support disaster recovery planning, backup/restore testing, and IT contingency planning for project systems
Ensure all staff complete required security and privacy training
Immediately report and support the response to any actual or suspected breach, per OMB and agency policy

Required

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field
3+ years of hands-on experience as a cyber security analyst, preferably supporting federal websites or cloud environments (AWS GovCloud/FedRAMP)
Experience with FISMA, NIST 800-53 (Rev. 5 preferred), FedRAMP Moderate, POA&M, vulnerability scanning, and incident response
Experience preparing/maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation and leading federal compliance activities
Strong understanding of encryption, access control, backup/disaster recovery, and federal privacy requirements
Excellent analytical, organizational, and written documentation skills
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain government security clearance, if required

Preferred

CISSP, CISM, Security+, AWS Security Specialty, or similar certification
Experience supporting the Department of Education or other federal civilian agencies
Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility and records management standards
