Responsibilities

Teach courses within traditional classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, and online instructional environments with a focus on a strong pedagogical approach and quality student learning assessments
Participation in institutional development such as service and leadership on college committees
Academic advising
Mentoring adjunct faculty within the discipline
Participate in scholarly engagement
Professional development which includes teaching pedagogy
Institutional responsibility
Community service to both the campus and surrounding communities
Perform other duties as assigned
Assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor

Qualification

Master’s degree in BiologyTeaching experienceOnline instruction proficiencyLesson planningCreativity in teachingCompassion in instructionDiversity teachingCollaboration skills

Required

Master's degree in Biology with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in core Biology content
Experience using a variety of computer software programs and ability to learn new ones, particularly related to online instruction
Ability to teach students effectively and create lessons plans
Passion for the field of Biology and for teaching
Ability to use creativity, innovation, and compassion to instruct and engage students
Ability to teach a diverse student population

Preferred

Community college or university teaching experience in the classroom, hybrid, HyFlex, as well as synchronous and asynchronous online modalities
Documented track record of innovation in the classroom, teaching, and soft skills
Demonstrated ability to work well with others
