Head Boys Varsity Volleyball Coach (2025-2026)
Foundation Academies is Trenton, New Jersey’s largest and highest-ranking K-12 free public charter school serving more than 1,000 scholars across three schools on two campuses. They are seeking an experienced Boys Varsity Volleyball Coach to build athlete capacity, lead practices, and support team development while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining academic standards.

Responsibilities
Coach student-athletes in skill development, strategy, and competition preparation
Design and implement structured practice plans for individual and team growth
Observe athletes during practice and competition and provide actionable feedback
Assign team positions and develop game strategies aligned with athlete strengths
Monitor student-athlete academic performance and eligibility; maintain behavioral standards
Communicate expectations and provide updates to athletes, parents, and school staff
Collaborate with assistant coaches, school leadership, and operations staff to strengthen the program
Ensure compliance with district, state, and league regulations; maintain safety and proper equipment use
Support team events, award ceremonies, fundraising, and other school athletics initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Physical Education, Coaching, or related field
NJ Teaching or Substitute Certification
Required certifications: First Aid & CPR, AED, Epi-pen use, Coaching Fundamentals (NJSIAA)
Minimum of 3–5 years coaching experience at the high school or college level
Proven ability to design and implement skill development and competitive strategies
Experience mentoring student-athletes and/or assistant coaches
Strong collaboration, communication, organization, and follow-through skills
Commitment to the mission of preparing all students for college and career readiness
