Director of Development and Communications

One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as the Development and Communications Director. Responsibilities

Develop and execute annual fundraising plans to achieve revenue goals
Cultivate and steward relationships between One Place leadership with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations
Organize and manage annual donor recognition and stewardship activities
Organize and manage annual fundraising events
Manage all private, church, and corporate foundation proposals, stewardship, and reporting
Maintain donor database and track contributions, acknowledgments, and reports
Develop and lead Junior Board recruitment and planning
Manage volunteer opportunities and donation drives for individuals, corporations, and organizations
Work closely with Board leadership and Development Committees to advance fundraising and revenue goals
Serve as the point of contact for third party fundraising events and activities
Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to enhance the organization’s visibility
Manage digital platforms, including the website, social media, and email newsletters
Create compelling content, including press releases and donor stories
Design and oversee marketing and donor materials such as brochures, annual reports, and event collateral
Manage media contacts, outreach activities, and media tracking
Represent One Place in the community as needed
Work with Executive Director to research funding opportunities from foundations, government agencies, local municipalities, and other grantors
Prepare, write, and submit compelling grant proposals and applications
Track grant reporting requirements and ensure timely submission of deliverables
Collaborate with program staff to gather data and reports for grant compliance

Required

Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred
Minimum 5-7+ years of experience in nonprofit development, communications, and grant management
Proven success in fundraising and donor cultivation strategies
Experience in event planning and execution
Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills
Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang)
Proficiency in design and marketing tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp)
Proficiency in social media platforms
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
Understanding of financial tracking through Quickbooks and management of donor sources and restricted funds
Familiarity with federal and local grant financial management and compliance
Passion for social justice and advocating for survivors of domestic, sexual and family violence
