Controller
hireneXus is partnering with a Private Equity backed healthcare organization to find a Controller. This hands-on role involves overseeing the accounting affairs of the organization, managing financial reporting, and leading the accounting team to ensure compliance with GAAP standards.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary owner of all financial accounting activities for the Company and its affiliates
Act as the Company’s expert in Accounting, GAAP, and other applicable financial standards
Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies in compliance with GAAP
Oversee and manage the Company’s system of accounts, cost centers, entity consolidation, and intercompany accounting methodologies
Lead the accounting team, ensuring effective management of the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Credit Policies, and Accounts Payable to optimize working capital
Maintain comprehensive records of all company transactions and assets, including consolidation of entities and inter-company eliminations
Independently manage the financial close process and defend GAAP applications with external audit firms
Collaborate closely with business units to ensure revenue recognition aligns with GAAP
Design and implement robust financial controls capable of meeting Sarbanes-Oxley standards
Work alongside the CFO to develop inter-company transfer pricing and tax methodologies
Support state and federal tax preparation, maintaining accurate legal entity records for all company entities
Prepare internal and external financial reports, enhancing them for efficiency and effectiveness as needed, and manage reporting processes for third parties such as banks and insurance companies
Advise management on depreciation rates for capitalized items and recommend operational adjustments based on tax changes
Provide effective financial controls, ensuring confidentiality of financial data and plans
Evaluate and manage the performance of Accounting Department personnel, recommending training, hiring, or termination as necessary
Lead the integration of acquisitions related to accounting functions, supporting due diligence activities
Partner with external auditors and tax specialists to secure a ‘clean’ audit opinion, ensuring compliance with all tax matters, including sales, use, and property tax returns
Oversee all financial accounting activities for the Company and affiliates
Serve as the subject matter expert for Accounting, GAAP, and related financial standards
Document and uphold Company accounting policies according to GAAP
Manage the Company’s accounting system, ensuring accurate entity consolidation and intercompany transactions
Maintain thorough records of all Company transactions and assets
Close financial books independently and validate GAAP applications to auditors
Maintain financial records for all legal entities within the Company
Support state and federal tax preparations
Develop and maintain reporting processes for external parties, including lenders
Establish depreciation rates for capitalized assets
Implement effective financial controls to ensure data confidentiality
Assist in financial planning, annual budgeting, and monthly business reforecasting
Evaluate the Accounting Department’s personnel performance, recommending necessary training and staffing changes
Lead acquisition integrations from an accounting perspective
Coordinate and direct the preparation of financial analyses and variance reports
Collaborate with external auditors and tax specialists to achieve a ‘clean’ audit opinion and address all tax matters properly
Undertake other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA designation is essential
Experience in a Private Equity-owned multi-site services business is highly desirable
Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software, such as NetSuite
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both finance and non-finance professionals
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with experience presenting key data to senior management or auditors
Capable of managing virtual teams through effective use of communication technology
