Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of general secretarial, clerical, and administrative support functions/processes or a few specialized or essential clerical functions in support of the Murray County Environmental Health Department and staff including but not limited to: payment processing, reconciliation reports, data entry, billing, scheduling, document scanning/conversion, application processing, electronic record keeping, mailing, and filing
May enter data and/or process documents and records
The work includes operating standard office equipment
Customer service-based role assisting walk-in, phone calls, and email from clients with daily requests
Must be comfortable with talking to clients one-on-one
Includes some daily or weekly travel to the bank and post office
Involves work with county government officials and other partner agencies related to environmental health programs
Adherence to HIPPA laws required
Position is office-based
Schedule is Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualification

Notary public certifiedBilingual in EnglishSpanishCustomer serviceBasic office functionsComputer related duties

Required

High school diploma/GED
Ability to perform basic office functions and computer related duties
Customer service-based role assisting walk-in, phone calls, and email from clients with daily requests
Comfortable with talking to clients one-on-one
Includes some daily or weekly travel to the bank and post office
Involves work with county government officials and other partner agencies related to environmental health programs
Adherence to HIPPA laws required
Position is office-based
Schedule is Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
All positions require criminal history record check
Required education credentials, license, certification and/or registration must be submitted prior to employment in the position
Some positions require pre-employment drug testing in which the applicant who is offered the position will be required to successfully complete

Preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish
Notary public certified
