This position focuses on defining safety requirements, executing hazard analyses, and evaluating hardware/software risks to support mission success.

Responsibilities
Develop and/or update system safety artifacts, including PHL, PHA, FHA, SHA, SAR
Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and safety review boards/working groups
Support creation and maintenance of system safety documentation aligned to customer, range safety, and contractual requirements
Review test procedures for adherence to system safety requirements and coordinate with test range safety teams
Draft and/or support range safety reports required for testing
Help develop and maintain a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) documenting hazards and mitigation strategies
Serve as a visible safety leader, providing status and feedback to the program and customer stakeholders
Qualification
Required
System Safety engineering experience supporting safety requirements and safety hazard analysis for complex systems (hardware and software)
Experience participating in System Safety Working Groups (e.g., SSWG, WSESRB, SSSTRP or similar forums)
Demonstrated ability to build and communicate a safety case for redesign and/or risk acceptance
Requirements management and development experience, including DOORS
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface with customers and program management
Preferred
Experience supporting software safety activities
Experience supporting IRAD / capture activities
