Responsibilities
Clean, model, and transform raw data from various sources into clear, structured, and performant datasets
Design and build reusable data models and data products that power our executive dashboards, sales reports, and operational KPIs
Implement rigorous testing and documentation standards to ensure data reliability, accuracy, and “single source of truth” integrity
Act as a translator between Data Engineers (who manage infrastructure) and Data Analysts/Business Leaders (who seek insights) to ensure technical solutions meet real-world business requirements
Bring a software engineering mindset to the data stack by utilizing Git for version control and implementing CI/CD patterns for analytics code
Continuously improve data pipelines for scale, speed, and cost-effectiveness within our data warehouse
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, information systems, or related field required
Expert-level SQL skills are essential for complex data transformation and modeling
Proficiency with data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift) and ETL/ELT tools, specifically dbt
Strong understanding of Git/Version Control and testing frameworks
Proficiency in Python is highly helpful for automating tasks and advanced data handling
Familiarity with star schemas, Kimball modeling, and modern data design patterns
Ability to understand the roofing and construction business model to build models that actually matter to stakeholders
Exceptional ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners
A proactive approach to identifying data gaps and building scalable solutions
