Responsibilities
COBOL Development: Design, code, test, and maintain COBOL programs for mainframe applications
Mainframe Systems: Work with mainframe systems and associated technologies to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Analysis and Troubleshooting: Analyze business requirements and system specifications to develop effective and efficient COBOL solutions. Identify and troubleshoot issues, providing timely resolutions
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, systems analysts, and other developers, to ensure seamless integration of COBOL applications within the broader IT ecosystem
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all COBOL programs, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding for other team members
Testing: Conduct thorough unit testing of developed code to ensure its functionality, reliability, and compliance with established standards
Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities for performance optimization and implement necessary improvements to enhance the overall efficiency of COBOL applications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Over 5 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development on mainframe systems
Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies and associated tools
Experience in working on large-scale projects with complex business logic
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality code
Preferred
Prior Medicaid experience
