Responsibilities
Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and functionality
Component Ownership: Take responsibility for one or more components within Akamai's Web Security platform
Network & Protocol Expertise: Demonstrate deep understanding of internet protocols (TCP/UDP, TLS/DTLS, HTTP) and network layers
Operational Mindset: Embrace a "service always available " philosophy through resilient software design and operational awareness
Problem-Solving: Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex customer-facing network issues
Cloud Native Applications: Work with and deploy cloud-native constructs and technologies
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in C++ and C
Strong experience developing and coding within a Unix/Linux environment
Well-versed in how the internet works, including routing, TCP/UDP, TLS/DTLS, and HTTP
Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Familiarity with cloud-native concepts and deployments
Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems
