Tax CPA or Enrolled Agent
Phillips & Company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax CPA or Enrolled Agent to join their professional team. The role involves providing expert tax preparation, planning, and consulting services, ensuring compliance while delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities
Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns with accuracy and efficiency
Provide tax planning strategies, including estate planning, to optimize client financial outcomes
Conduct audits and assist with regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with federal and state laws
Analyze financial statements, interpret financial reports, and perform account reconciliations using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Drake, Ultratax
Assist clients with mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, and investment analysis
Maintain detailed documentation of tax filings, financial data, and audit trails in accordance with GAAP and SOX standards
Advise clients on non-profit accounting, asset management, payroll processing, and budgeting strategies
Support the development of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, utilizing double entry bookkeeping principles
Stay current on securities law, regulatory changes, and industry best practices affecting taxation and financial reporting
Qualification
Required
CPA certification or Enrolled Agent designation required
Proven experience in tax preparation with extensive tax experience across various sectors including estate planning, corporate accounting, public accounting, and non-profit organizations
Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance standards, financial concepts, and technical accounting practices such as debits & credits and general ledger reconciliation
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software platforms
Familiarity with securities law, mergers & acquisitions processes, financial analysis techniques, and regulatory reporting requirements
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately
Strong understanding of accounting principles such as balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, bookkeeping fundamentals including double entry bookkeeping
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to clients and team members
Preferred
Experience in sales or financial services is a plus but not required
