PFT Technician
The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research and excellence in patient care. They are seeking a Pulmonary Function Technician who will perform pulmonary function tests and assist in bronchoscopy procedures to diagnose and manage diseases in patients.

Responsibilities
Instruct and coach patients to perform effort dependent breathing tests, independently and under minimal supervision
Learn all of the various measurements of lung function in order to generate reproducible and accurate results
Understand the technical aspects of the equipment and comprehend various hardware and software applications
Follow a variety of detail-specific protocols
Assist the Pulmonary Attending Physicians during bronchoscopies
Provide training for medical residents and Pulmonary Fellows during their rotations
Qualification
Required
BA/BS degree in Biological Sciences or another applicable natural science major; or two years of college courses in the natural sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with the Internet and e-mail
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Proven ability to follow through on a variety of projects simultaneously and operate with some degree of autonomy
Reliable attendance
Preferred
Proficiency in MS Office 2010 for Windows (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel)
Bilingual (Spanish, Tagalog, Cantonese)
Excellent writing. Proofreading, and editing skills
