Clinical Risk Analyst Specialist

Morris Heights Health Center is focused on improving patient safety and regulatory compliance. The Clinical Risk Analyst Specialist will support risk management efforts through data analysis, incident reporting, and collaboration with clinical teams.

Responsibilities

Assist in the rounding of clinics and help in identifying potential risks related to patient care, facility operations, and regulatory compliance
Assist and document investigation of incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
Take and transcribe notes of confidential interviews taken during an event investigation and keep confidential
Keep up to date with regulations, and support adherence to same, including HIPAA, OSHA, HRSA, Joint Commission standards and others as directed
Conduct chart audits to assess compliance, documentation accuracy, and potential risk areas under the directive of the Director
As instructed by the Director, assist in updating risk management policies and procedures
Help deliver basic risk management training to staff on safety protocols and compliance measures; and keep records of same
Organize, store and maintain confidential records of risk assessments, incidents, and corrective actions
Develop spreadsheets, create graphs, and conduct basic data analysis for risk management metric tracking
Attend and keep records and/or minutes of meetings as needed at the discretion of the Director
Work closely with the Director, clinical teams, and administrators to align findings with operational improvements
As instructed by the director research and compares MHHC metrics with industry benchmarks to support strategic decision-making
Build presentations incorporating data insights with input from the Director

Required

Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, Data Analytics, or a related field (bachelor's degree preferred but not required)
Familiarity with incident reporting systems, data visualization, and analysis
Internship in healthcare risk management, patient safety, compliance, and/or data analysis
Strong computer proficiency, including Excel (graph creation, basic analysis, basic formulas, Pivot Table) and PowerPoint (presentation content design)
Knowledge of medical terminology and proficient in medical chart reviews
Basic understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, billing codes, and data-driven healthcare performance metrics
Excellent organizational skills to manage records, audits, and reporting tasks
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills for engaging with staff, patients, and leadership
Ability to work collaboratively with supporting departments, teammates and under supervision

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Public Health, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Allied Health, Nursing or a related field
Prior experience in healthcare risk management, patient safety, compliance, nursing, and/or data analysis
