Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, optimization, and lifecycle management of manufacturing tooling
Design and develop complex tools, molds, jigs, and fixtures for aircraft applications
Review and approve tooling designs, drawings, and engineering change documentation
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring tooling and production issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tool life, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and product engineering teams
Coordinate with tooling suppliers to support tools designed and implemented
Oversee tooling trials, validation, and production readiness activities
Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements
Support the digitization of complex tools, molds, jigs, and fixtures
Review and verify digitized tooling data for accuracy against scanned tools
Provide technical guidance to teams performing digitization activities
Provide full onsite support at the Lockheed Martin Marietta, GA facility
Ability to walk extended distances on the shop floor as required
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
15+ years of aircraft or aerospace tooling experience
Advanced knowledge of tooling design, materials, and manufacturing processes
Strong proficiency in CATIA V5 and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Demonstrated leadership in problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and process optimization
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Preferred
Prior Lockheed Martin tooling experience preferred, but not required
