Engineer of Radiological Work, Entry Level
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (FMP) is dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of the nation's naval nuclear reactors. They are seeking an Entry Level Engineer of Radiological Work to join the Waste Engineering and Characterization team, where the role involves engineering solutions for the management and disposition of materials and equipment no longer needed.

Responsibilities
Perform up front evaluations to determine if the material will be required to be managed and disposed of regulated waste as determined by federal regulations
Preparation of work procedures to generate the material, waste packaging, and waste shipment preparations
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field
Preferred
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
3.2 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale
Experience with DOT, RCRA, TSCA, asbestos and radiological material regulations
Experience with waste management
Strong problem evaluation and solution development skills
Attention to detail to maintain waste documentation
Proficient in standard software
