Receptionist-MSW-PT Evenings

Responsibilities
Provides assistance, guidance and direction to visitors and patients, ascertains the nature of their business
Assists and/or directs clients, visitors and/or patients to various locations in the hospital when appropriate; calls for an escort when necessary
Receives telegrams, messages, flowers, newspapers and other items; notifies appropriate personnel; in hospital setting, verifies that patient has not been discharged; returns flowers delivered for discharged patients to the florist
Maintains files on patient requests for telephone service and of all calls transferred to and from patient phones
Maintains directory and files on active and discharged patients, their location, patient status, and other pertinent information according to established procedures
Responds to inquiries regarding patient condition
Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control
Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
Attends in-service and other required meetings; attends educational programs as directed
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent education desirable
