Engineering Technician
The Kendall Group is a 100% employee-owned company that serves various industries including Electrical and Automation. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of protective relaying equipment and electrical devices in a production environment.

Responsibilities
Perform acceptance tests on equipment using various test equipment (e.g. computers, multi-meters and relay test sets) and ac/dc power supplies
Assist with tests on electrical devices in our production facility and at customer sites
Interpret electrical/electronic and mechanical schematics
Inspect product to ensure compliance with safety standards, operational efficiency and overall quality
Create and file testing documentation
Support the creation of standard testing templates (checklists and procedures) for protective relays, IED’s and electrical devices frequently applied in our projects
Adhere to RPS Quality Management, safety and work procedures and requirements
Support the identification and implementation of continual improvement of processes and customer satisfaction
Support, as required, other aspects of our assembly and design efforts
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
1 year of experience in testing electromechanical relays, instruments and control devices
Associates degree in electrical/electronic technology or related field, or commensurate experience
Experience with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)
Highly organized and detail oriented
Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization and customers; proficient oral and written communication skills
Ability to see/sit/talk and hear
Ability to lift/move/carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to be on your feet for 8 hours a day
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs
Ability to climb stairs and step ladders, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Local travel to customer sites
Preferred
Testing and field experience in electric utility and industrial substations
Familiarity with performing diagnostic tests using various test equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes, and Omicron
