Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist will handle accounts payable transactions, assist the accounting team, and collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues and processes.

Responsibilities
Process vouchers through Parker’s accounts payable system for invoices and check requests
Provide customer service to plant personnel, other Parker divisions and suppliers
Investigate issues and answer questions, directing questions to appropriate resources
Assist Accounting Team with tasks and special projects
Compare data contained in a variety of financial records to detect errors and discrepancies
Coordinate accounts payable activities with the purchasing function
Ensure invoices and entries are properly approved, documented, and recorded as incurred
Perform daily and month end accounts payable reconciliations
Ensure all services and expense items are properly accrued monthly
Participate in annual physical inventory
Complete audit stamp function for proper assessment of sales and use tax
Maintain and enhance lean office culture at the Division
Contribute to HPT and participate in team meetings
Wear proper PPE and follow all set safety guidelines
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor Management designee
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
2-4 years experience in accounts payable function
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload
Must be well organized
Must be able to work and participate in a team environment
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow job related instructions or standard work process, subject to all applicable state and federal laws
Perform tasks with little supervision
Able to effectively work on and manage multiple tasks daily, communicate professionally with co-workers, show flexibility to learn multiple jobs within the department, and show aptitude to perform essential job functions listed above
Dependable, prompt, and reliable with good overall attendance
Demonstrate ability to get along with others; behave professionally; treat all coworkers with respect and dignity consistent with Parker Values and Code of Conduct
Able to read, understand, and follow written & verbal instructions and directions in English
