STA Engineer
Ford Motor Company is a global leader in mobility and transportation. They are seeking an STA Engineer to manage the quality of products supplied from multiple supplier sites, ensuring adherence to quality metrics and leading improvements with suppliers.

Responsibilities
Manage quality of products supplied to Ford Service from multiple supplier sites, both service unique and production common for assigned suppliers
Maintain the STA 6-Panel and metrics and contribute to department objectives
Develop and communicate quality metrics identifying:
Current and potential Q1 suppliers
Managing recommended revoke suppliers
PPAP’s
Manufacturing Site Assessments (MSA)
8D Closure
STA and Department PPM
Chronic suppliers
Lead and manage improvements with Chronic suppliers via supplier visits & meetings as required. (Maximize travel value by also visiting nearby suppliers to consolidate trips.)
Initiate "Best in Class" methods for resolution and preventative service quality rejects
Verify implementation of robust permanent corrective actions, coach supplier on best practices, completion of supplier website training for assigned suppliers
Lead Q1 management across assigned service unique suppliers and support production sites
Develop & coach potential service unique Q1 suppliers on work plans requirements in:
ISO 14001 & IATF 16949 3 rd party system requirements
MMOG
Manufacturing Site Assessment (MSA)
Performance Requirements; Delivery and Quality
Confirm and authenticate IATF-16949 and ISO 14001 certificates for service unique suppliers
Verify MSA assessment for service unique suppliers pursuing Q1 to assess supplier's Quality Operating Systems (QOS) for Q1 effectiveness (utilizing web-based site MSA)
Disposition Q1 revocation (DocuSign)
Support STA and Department Objectives
PPM
Q1 management

Support suppliers
Control plan development during 3D, 8D and APQP reviews
Ensure that suppliers shipping product in final packaging understand and meet the Ford Service Part Packaging and Service Guide
New model readiness by expediting PPAP completion as appropriate
Monitor and review dealer claims to uncover and implement quality systemic improvements
Conduct onsite supplier process improvements verification reviews as required
Guide suppliers in QCN process to purge depots and dealers as needed
Draft dealer bulletins to pull stock as determined by Ford engineering
Supplier's use of Supplier Quality Website and Supplier Improvement Metric (SIM)
Supplier Request for Engineering Approval (eSREA) specifically including:
In production service parts
Out of production, in warranty service parts
Out of production, out of warranty service parts
Provide assistance to Service Purchasing, Engineering, Delivery and Logistics
Support purchasing to evaluate potential future suppliers and part re-sourcing actions
Disposition SREA and PPAP for timely completion to resourcing action
Support engineer in pursuing Warranty solutions and or Field actions
Guide Ford engineering in use for QCN process
Draft dealer bulletins to pull stock as determined by Ford engineering
Support delivery by directing suppliers to their assigned delivery analyst
Understand Ford Policies and STA's role in following policy
Review and follow STA and Ford processes and procedures
Qualification
Required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent technical/manufacturing aptitude
Customer focus with data driven decision-making
Strong analytical skill set in: Plant manufacturing QOS, QSF, Lean Manufacturing, QSA Assessments, SPC, SREA & PPAP processes, FMEA, Gage R&R, 8D problem solving methods, & DOE
Ability to travel and visit supplier locations in person approximately 25% of the time
Preferred
Launch Program & APQP Knowledge with experience in initial APQP through to PPAP process is a plus
Manufacturing quality, or prior STA Background Preferred, 2-3 years
Ability to manage a number of diverse tasks at a time, flexible
Manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations experience
