Communications and Operations Intern - Economic Security and Technology Department (Spring 2026)
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization focused on global security and prosperity. They are seeking a motivated Communications and Operations Intern to support the Economic Security and Technology Department's operations and outreach efforts, including drafting content, event coordination, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
Support day-to-day operations of the EST team, including scheduling, databases, and internal tracking
Assist in drafting the EST newsletter and other communications
Draft and schedule social media content and design visual assets using tools like Canva
Help plan, coordinate, and run a variety of events, including webinars, briefings, and public events
Gather and organize meeting information, including attendee bios, titles, and other relevant materials, and assist with meeting coordination
Greet and escort meeting attendees and provide logistical support during events
Assist with production and editing of multimedia content, including podcasts, videos, and presentations
Conduct research, draft summaries, and proofread communications or publications
Collaborate with team members on projects and contribute ideas to improve communications and operations
Qualification
Required
Must hold a bachelor's degree
Demonstrated experience in communications, operations, or related administrative support roles (internship or coursework experience acceptable)
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar platforms for creating infographics, banners, and other visual content
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Proven ability to follow directions, take initiative, and contribute creative ideas to improve content and workflow
Ability to work collaboratively within a small, dynamic team and communicate effectively with colleagues across departments
Must be able to work in-person at the CSIS office in Washington, D.C., with flexibility for occasional remote work if needed
Preferred
Progress towards a master's degree, or a master's degree, is a plus
Prior experience managing social media accounts (LinkedIn, X, or similar platforms) and drafting professional digital content is a plus
Video editing experience (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or OpusClip) is a plus
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management tools preferred
Preference will be given to candidates who are able to complete an in-person, 6-month, full-time internship
