Responsibilities

Takes the lead over professional staff engaged in communication, review of client submissions, preparation and dissemination of permitting documents, record keeping, calendar maintenance and event operations
Prepares and makes recommendations to the Events Supervisor & Park Superintendent to make significant changes to the program designed to increase revenue and address program deficiencies
Reviews/approves timesheets for hourly employees and assists with grants and special projects assigned by the Park Superintendent

Required

Six (6) years of professional experience in planning, monitoring, coordinating, implementing, modifying and/or evaluating agency programs and services
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and two (2) years of the above-mentioned professional experience
Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline appropriate for the position; and one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience
All U.S. degrees and transcripts must be from an accredited college or university. All foreign degrees and transcripts must be evaluated for accreditation by a recognized evaluation service by the closing date of this posting
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position
Selected candidates must be authorized to work in the United States per the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship, and Immigration Services regulations

Preferred

Ability to take the lead on all aspects of the Liberty State Park Special Use Permitting Program and Special Event Program
Ability to assist the Park Superintendent as needed, with special assignments including calendar maintenance, attendance tracking, grants and GIS work
Ability to effectively lead a team of professional staff and communicate program goals and direction
